Strange Wisdoms - Original Poem

Strange Wisdoms

We find knowledge as a lesson,
Taught that it’s a blessing,
Confessing our transgressions,
Consequences stating messages

Setting truth as our liberty
Mutual to the tears of reality
Indeed it may be actual
But far removed from tactful

We’re brutal in our honesty
Barbaric in value
Literal interpretations,
And final in first impressions

Self-centered in our intentions
Too much to mask our prejudice
Our pride is superficial
And bordering detrimental

We know it, but yet ignore it
Strange wisdoms of our condition
Self-inflicted and cataclysmic
The catalyst to our destruction
